Ramon Allones plays a major role in the centuries old story of Havana cigars. Founded in 1837, it is also one of the oldest brands still in production, second only to Por Larranaga (1834). Between 1911 and 1927 Hunters & Frankau owned the Ramon Allones factory in Havana as well as the world wide brand rights. It is perhaps understandable then that we are particularly pleased to see this new addition to the classic range, the first in well over 40 years.

Full flavoured, all the cigars are made ‘tripa larga, totalmente a mano’ – long filler, totally handmade. They are made with a blend of filler and binder tobaccos harvested exclusively from the Vuelta Abajo zone of Pinar del Rio, characterised by its intense and complex taste.

Private Stock was the name of a cigar which previously existed in the Ramon Allones portfolio. Although production was discontinued in the 1970’s, H&F archives show that this cigar continued to be available in the UK until 1981. The black and white band of the Private Stock 230 is a recreation of those used by Ramon Allones during the height of the Private Stock’s popularity. However, this celebratory cigar also bears the size name on it, making it unique.

The Private Stock 230 was seen for the first time, before general release, as part of the Hunters & Frankau House Reserve Series 1790 Collection No. 2.

Just fifty numbered pieces have been commissioned from Italian humidor makers, DeART S.r.l. Each one contains sixty-one Ramón Allones cigars, made in Havana under the authority of Habanos S.A. and every Ramón Allones Limited Edition and UK Regional Edition is included. This provides seven different cigars spanning a period of sixteen years. They are classified as special productions either due to the ageing of the tobacco used in their manufacturing or because they have been produced exclusively for the UK market. For the first time, presenting the Ramón Allones Private Stock 230 prior to the general release, a cigar created to commemorate Hunters & Frankau’s 230th Anniversary in 2020.
