The Por Larranaga Larranaga 47 or PL47 for short is a classic “Churchill” vitola and is presented in an impressive unvarnished Semi Boîte Nature box of 50 cigars. This is the first time a UK Habanos Regional Edition has been offered to the market in this format.

As with some previous UK Regional Editions, an old papeleta from the brand has been recreated to dress the outside of the box. Unlike most cabinets/boxes housing fifty Habanos, the cigars are layered in three rows of thirteen and one row of eleven rather than tied into a bundle with ribbon. This style of box is considered an outstanding way of ageing cigars in the medium and long term. Only 1,500 numbered boxes have been produced which will be made available exclusively to the UK market.

The name Por Larranaga, which means “By Larranaga”, was first registered in Havana by Ignacio Larrañaga in 1834. This was just 24 years after the very first cigar brands were registered, and makes Por Larrañaga the oldest brand of handmade Habanos still in production.

Although Por Larrañaga is classified light to medium bodied, and is relatively subtle and easy going, it has a reputation for outstanding ageing potential. Previous UK Regional Editions from the brand, most notably the 2007 Magnifico, have born this out and have become extremely collectable.

Cohiba Siglo de Oro (2022)

Beginning in 2019 with the Romeo y Julieta Maravillas No.8 (Year of the Rat), the Cohiba Siglo de Oro is the fourth release from Habanos s.a. to commemorate a Chinese lunar New Year.

The Siglo de Oro measures 4 1⁄2” (115mm) x 54 ring gauge and is an entirely new size within the Habanos portfolio (Vitola de Galera is Exitosos or “successful” in English). Only 18,888 boxes of 18 cigars have been produced to mark the 2023/24 lunar calendar with each box housing a scannable chip secured to the inner lid allowing for instant authentication and information. Each cigar is dressed with the standard Cohiba band and a foot-band denoting the “Year of the Rabbit”.

H&F House Reserve Series 1790 Collection Number Two

The Series 1790 is the jewel in the crown of Hunters & Frankau’s House Reserve and consists of themed collections curated from some of the rarest and most sought-after Havana cigars within their House Reserve. The first Collection, from 2019, offered ten of every UK Habanos Regional Editions up to and including the 2017 release. This time inspiration has been drawn for the Collection Number Two from of our long-standing shared history with the Ramón Allones brand. A relationship dating back to at least 1911.

Just fifty numbered pieces have been commissioned from Italian humidor makers, DeART S.r.l. Each one contains sixty-one Ramón Allones cigars, made in Havana under the authority of Habanos S.A. and every Ramón Allones Limited Edition and UK Regional Edition is included. This provides seven different cigars spanning a period of sixteen years. They are classified as special productions either due to the ageing of the tobacco used in their manufacturing or because they have been produced exclusively for the UK market. For the first time, presenting the Ramón Allones Private Stock 230 prior to the general release, a cigar created to commemorate Hunters & Frankau’s 230th Anniversary in 2020.
