We have launched a limited number of bottles of Sanaig Cask Strength for 2024. After the success of Machir Bay Cask Strength we thought it was time that everyone had a chance to taste Sanaig at its natural best as well! This vatting uses the same recipe as our regular Sanaig bottling however, rather than reducing the strength to 46% abv, we have released a limited number of bottles at cask strength; 57.8% abv.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Toffee sweetness and dark fruits with red berries and smoked oak.

Taste: Intense sweetness and spiced dark chocolate with raisins, liquorice and warming rich peat smoke.

Finish: Lingering sweetness and spices with integrated smoke throughout.

The palate feels weighty and lively at the same time – salty and peaty, with lemon and lime syrup, shellfish stock, miso caramel, Fisherman’s Friends and langoustines on the barby. The finish is long, clean and very coastal.

These noughties Ledaig batches are just impeccable spirit, and here it’s been matured for a decent time in a cask that’s done nothing more than add a thread of sweetness and allow some complexity to develop.

This bourbon hogshead produced only 239 bottles at a cask strength of 56.3%.

The fourth expression in our renowned and award-winning Cigar Malt collection, Cigar Malt IV.

Cigar Malt IV is a 53.8% ABV, non-chill filtered, annual batch release single malt. Rich in texture and flavour that perfectly complements the complexity of both the aroma and mouthfeel of a handcrafted luxury cigar.

The expressions within the Cigar Malt range are always a highlight of the year for the team, due to its richness and depth of flavour. For the same reason, we know it’s a favourite, and we’re confident this release will be no exception. It’s a magnificent dram.

Each bottle of Cigar Malt IV comes with a stainless steel Tamdhu cigar cutter.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Sticky ginger pudding and warm sherried oak.

Taste: Creme brulee, and plum crumble steeped in sherry.

Finish: Apricot and toasted almonds, with crisp honeycomb.

Daftmill is farm distillery. Owned and operated by the Cuthbert family, it only runs in the farm’s quiet periods; mid-summer and winter, sometimes producing as few as 100 casks per year. When not distilling, Francis Cuthbert looks after the estate, growing and malting barley used to make this Lowland whisky.

The barley variety Publican was grown in the 43ac field and was harvested by John and Sandy on the 28th and 29th August 2009. It was then dried and stored on the farm to be malted in Alloa during the summer of 2010.

The whisky that went into this bottling came from twenty-seven first fill ex bourbon barrels, which were filled in December 2011. Then matured in the upper level of our dunnage warehouse until bottling in 2024.

The Bruichladdich Distillery Micro-Provenance series is an ongoing exploratory series of single casks, specifically selected to examine the influences on maturing Islay single malt Scotch whisky – the variables of age, vintage, wood, barley, storage location, humidity, heat and marine climate – the very essence of provenance.

This September 2024 release was distilled on 25/06/2012, using Concerto barley, aged in an first-fill Monbazillac cask (Cask No. 2113) and finally bottled on 10/04/2024 as part of a total out-turn of 282 bottles.

At 307.2 PPM, Octomore 15.3 is our second most heavily peated release to date. Using 100% Islay barley, matured in bourbon casks and Spanish Oloroso hogsheads. Formidable smoke is countered by ripe fruit from its patient distillation.

Octomore 15.3 brings together heavyweight peating levels and variable harvests from one singular farm on Islay – Octomore farm, located just 2 miles from the distillery.

At 307.2 PPM, 15.3 is complex, robust and bursting with character. Formidable smoke is countered by ripe fruit from its patient distillation, showcasing both incomparable flavour and provenance. Kissed by salty sea spray, the homegrown Islay barley imparts not only malty sweetness but evokes a true sense of place.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Golden syrup.

Aroma: Smoked cinder toffee, rich malted Islay barley sugar and honey come to the fore, balanced with fresh citrus. Dried fruit and crushed seashells mingle with Octomore’s heady peat smoke, with cloves, toasted nuts and a hint of coconut adding depth and complexity. Butterscotch, brown sugar and warm bread pave the way for the cereal-forward single malt whisky.

Taste: High strength yet exceptionally soft in texture, Octomore 15.3 is unmistakably rounded and viscous. Butterscotch and creamy vanilla enhance its smooth character, punctuated with dried fruit and sweet orange zest. Toasted oak and locally grown barley sugar are underpinned with waves of dry smoke.

Finish: Burnt sugar, coconut, and delicate sea spray linger on the finish, with the lasting impression of earthy peat smoke forcing you to come back for more.

Ripe orchard fruits drenched in honey vie with vanilla, caramel and a subtle oak spice. The palate tells a tale of complexity and refinement: stewed apples and peaches, softened by the sweet caress of Sauternes, dance with ginger warmth and a hint of nutmeg. The finish is long and satisfying, leaving echoes of sweet fruit and luscious honey.

The nose opens with white sugars sprinkled atop a warm, homemade shortbread. Split vanilla pods reveal their seeds, intertwining with a gentle breeze of orchard freshness. Tasting reveals a note of green apple and pear, adding a crisp edge to the creamy texture. A sprinkle of white pepper introduces a medium finish, where the initial sweetness gently recedes, leaving behind a hint of floral honey.
