It takes a decade of patient ageing in specially chosen, fire-charred new American white oak barrels for Michter?s 10 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon to reach its optimum maturity. Fondly referred to as ?Dr. No? by Michter?s salespeople, Master Distiller Willie Pratt will only release whiskey for bottling until he feels it is just right.

Tasting Notes

Nose; Very tempting, complex aromas of dried fruit, cherry menthol, cinnamon and nutmeg. Touch of earthy tobacco, too.

Palate; More of the same – rich dried fruit, Christmas-cake spices and a savoury, earthy, bitter-chocolate note.

Finish; The spices last a long time, making this a whiskey to contemplate.

Comment; This is a big-hearted whiskey that impresses with its layers of fruit and spice, with an added dimension of leather and tobacco.
