With its subtle balance of fruit and refined smokey notes pure Malt Black is the least peaty of the range.

Tasting Notes

Nose; Plush, rich fruit with an aromatic rush of peaty smoke. Notes of dark chocolate and herbs follow.

Palate; Plenty going on here: fruit-studded chocolate, sweet toffee and vanilla and toasty oak, underpinned by sturdy peat that gives depth and backbone.

Finish; The smoke carries the fruit and spice along.

Comment; Everything is balanced here: the peat, the smoke, the fruit and the spice. A very well crafted whisky.
