Christmas Pipe 2011 ‘The Nutcracker’ – No. 27 / 300 – Sold No. 140 / 300 – Sold – This Christmas pipe starts a new 12-year theme ?The Nutcracker and the Mouse King?, beginning in 2011 and ending in 2023. It is based the characters of the children?s book ?The Nutcracker and the Mouse King? by German author Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann and the famous ballet ?The Nutcracker? by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. This being the 1st pipe in the series, it depicts one of the main characters of the story, THE NUTCRACKER.
The pipe is a very elegant group 4 Dublin in Cumberland finish with slightly forward leaning bowl with bevelled, polished rim. It features a wide Sterling Silver band intricately engraved with scrollwork and the image of the Nutcracker. The solid Nutcracker pipe tamper has substantially increased in weight and is hand-crafted from 50 grams of finest English Sterling Silver. Being a new series, the design of the traditional Christmas book Presentation has been reworked and upgraded. The highly collectable White Spot Christmas pipes and tampers are presented in a leather-bound book held in attractive blue red colours with gold embossing to represent the uniform of the Nutcracker. Each set is accompanied by its numbered limited edition certificate. This edition series is strictly limited to only 300 pipes annually worldwide.
