Another Chorlton first! I’m amazed I made it this far without bottling something from this grand old distillery.

The nose has a distinct minerality, with cider lollies, mango skins, pears, lemongrass, wax and hints of yellow flowers and violets. The palate is fresh and zingy, with quite a full waxy texture. I find lemons and limes, all sorts of stone fruits, honey, limestone and salted butter.

Glen Garioch has changed a lot over the years, but in this mode you can feel its kinship with other Highland distilleries like Pulteney or Clynelish. If you like that sort of mineralic and fruity profile you can’t go wrong.

This first-fill barrel produced 248 bottles at a very easy-going cask strength of 50.2%
